The Haka Overview
An inspiring display of strength and pride, the ancient haka war dance has been used for centuries to unite tribes and challenge opponents; making it a highly effective team activity used to boost energy and ignite enthusiasm.
Inspired by the Maori people, prepare to exercise your facial expressions! A passionate, action packed delivery of movement and vocals, encourage self expression and motivate delegates.
Whilst at first glance, the concept of the session may conjure up a sense of awkwardness, “dancing in front of colleagues”, rest assured that our team are experts at putting peoples inhibitions aside and getting the whole team focused on the finale performance.
Led by the charismatic host we will get everyone up on their feet and full of energy (even if they are in their home)!
How Does it Work?
Our unique Haka activity is a high energy choreographer lead energiser session in which guests will join a web call to learn the iconic tribal dance, The Haka.
The focus is around learning a new skill, and a sequence to perform as a team at the end of the activity; our lead choreographers are experts in facilitating these sessions and will lead the session from start to finish.
This activity lends itself to being recorded and shown back at a future date – the perfect memento of what can be achieved as a team in only a short period of time.
This activity lasts 30 minutes
- Introduction to the activity / brief history of Haka by your live host (8 minutes)
- Kinesthetic learning and practice from the demonstrations provided (12 mins)
- The finale – putting what you’ve learned into a 1-Team performance (5 minutes)
- Wrap up, summarise – and applause! (5 minutes)
What do we provide
- Pre-event support and joining instructions you can share amongst your team
- We provide a Zoom video platform, but we can run it on your preferred platform also
- A live choreographer who introduces the activity but is available for the duration should you need them
- For groups over 100 people we provide an additional choreographer support

Hybrid & Live – Covid safe solutions
This activity can be delivered as a hybrid (delegates in the office and some at home) and live activity (everyone in the same place together.
We run them in exactly the same way as we do the virtual version.
- Everyone still uses their devices
- Guests can join from the Zoom call from any location/ office.
- Our choreographer will join via a live zoom/video call. Meaning that we can run this event without any outside contact.

Do we get sent equipment in the post?
No equipment is required - simply a webcam enabled device.
What do we need for the Virtual Haka session?
You need a space of about 1mSq so you can move your arms freely and comfortably.
Is your Virtual Haka respectful of the Maori culture?
Yes, the high-energy session has been choreographed and designed by someone who has previously acted as a Haka consultant to the New Zealand All Blacks.
Is Virtual Haka inclusive for everyone?
The session is delivered in a professional manner and very quickly everyone is put at ease. We often get feedback saying this is the best virtual event people have ever done!
Do we get to keep any of the footage?
If you specifically want the event footage, we can record the session and share it with you.
What is the “Initial Set Up Fee”?
This set-up fee covers all project management and pre-event coordination including publishing the game and sharing comprehensive joining instructions.
Is it cheaper if we have more people?
Yes, there is an economy of scale.
Can this activity be run as a Hybrid or Live Event?
Yes we can run the activity as a virtual, hybrid or live activity.
How do I pay?
We prefer Credit Card to ensure payment is made in advance of the event. You can however pay by BACS if payment terms can be met.
What are the cancellation terms?
We will always try and accommodate a date change, but within 7 days of your event there is a charge to cover each member of our cancelled team.
What availability do you have?
Simply check the availability calendar to see when we have spaces. We have a very large team of fully trained and charismatic Event Hosts - so only rarely are we sold out.
Do we have to use Zoom?
Whilst Zoom is our preferred platform, we can of course join whichever Platform you’d like us to. We have run it for Monster Energy on MS Teams and for Apple using WebEx for example
What equipment do we need?
Each guest will simply require a webcam enabled computer.
How many people can participate?
We’ve run this activity for 800 people at once - there is no upper limit.
How many people in each team?
This is a mass participation energiser activity - we don’t have teams.
