Glasgow is the destination of today’s road trip, leaving Edinburgh and The George Hotel behind us. As always, we’ll be giving you a bit of information about Glasgow itself and the venues we work with here, as well as a few team building ideas for your next corporate event!
Hotels and other venues in Glasgow have had a record-breaking summer this year due to the success of the 2014 commonwealth games. Average hotel occupancy reached a record breaking 91.6%! One venue in Glasgow in particular that Zing would always recommend is the Grand Central Hotel.
The Grand Central Hotel is an iconic art-deco styled building, with a mix of eclectic indoor spaces ranging from the ornate Grand Room to the more intimate Regent and Victoria rooms. The marble pillars and other original features of the building provide the perfect backdrop for any corporate team building event.
The Grand Hall with its stylish surroundings and ability to cater for large groups of people means that it makes a fantastic location for Zing to hold one of its most popular team building activities – Get In The Zone!
Get In The Zone is a fiercely competitive team building activity in which groups compete in over 100 varied activities to see who will emerge victorious. Whether you prefer physical, mental, creative or skilled challenges this game has something for everyone.
Open up our bespoke 120 page gloss marvel-style booklet and attempt activities ranging from balancing games to boxing to shooting sponge guns! Want to watch Get In The Zone in action? (Find the video here…)

Despite a lot of searching, there didn’t seem to be a lot of funny street names in Glasgow, although we did spot these fun sport-based train station names that appeared around Glasgow to coincide with the commonwealth games. Tomorrow we arrive in our last Scottish spot – Aberdeen!
